Theses rooftop units were just placed here this summer. I noticed a few guys up on the roof yesterday and now the crane. I don’t think the interior is even done yet.

Our church is in the middle of a $
2.5 million expansion and we couldn’t do most of the interior until the HVAC was fully functional. Otherwise the interior materials would change shape after installation. Plus workers don’t like being inside 100-degree buildings doing electrical and drywall if they can avoid it :D

Yeah, you can do a lot without conditioned spaces, but for millwork and final finishes, definitely need to be able to keep the temperature stable.
But rough ins and all the way through to drywall taping and sanding can be done prior to HVAC.
Our long lead issues haven’t been mechanical units normally, we’ve been held up by glass and metal panels. Normally always the enclosure is the critical path. By the time we hit finishes, the mechanical is usable, but we have to wait on the drywall sanding to start up the units.

That’s not a good sign that they are pulling the units off. Somebody screwed up, or the owner made some late changes. Rut roh.
